I recently posted on twitter about how I felt videogames were art.
99 percent of the people who replied agreed.
One guy commented saying I was wrong, that it was a misconception, and that games were a form of entertainment, and art wasn’t entertainment.
I replied saying “Eh, I get entertainment from music, pretty sure that’s art.”
Their reply was “Another misinterpretation. Music is not art.”
I pretty much gave up on the discussion there.
I’m sure in some thick textbook somewhere, there is proof that he was in the right. But in my head and in my heart, there’s proof otherwise.

mygamingconfessions:

I am both a gamer and a Christian. Gaming is my passion. God is my everything. But for a very long time, I’ve had a lot of friends who were neither, and the few who were one of these usually berated for being one or the other.
“How can you believe in such crap?” my atheist gamer friend said. “How can you indulge in such violence?” my Christian prayer partner said. I felt alone. So, so alone, apart from God.But you know what? I’ve found that you can love both at a different level. That you can play games like Assassin’s Creed without betraying your moral values, that you can love God and pray at night without intefering with your interest. It’s just a question of setting yourself some rules and not to let gaming between you and God.I just wish one of these friends would have taught me that before, instead of condemning my every move (whether Christian, Atheist, or else). It would have spared me a lot of doubt and bitterness and anger.
